Following on hiking trails, living in a tent was where it's at
A tough little firecracker, chasing 'way racoons and once a fox

On long and windy road trips through northwestern Ontario
You watched me with confusion as a swimming I did go
We used to have races to our favourite stump in the yard
I tried to put a harness on you once and I still have the scar

Twelve years you and me we've been an awfully awesome good pair

Still full of surprises like building a nest out of foam
and lying in every entrance to a doorway that we use in our new home
